What is the personal project?
In the final MYP year students are given the option to explore an area of personal interest that consolidates everything they have learned in the 5 MYP years. This project teaches students important skills that they will be able to use to further their education and life beyond the classroom. [IBO, 2005-2021] |

MYP Projects coordinator What an achievement by each and every member of the 2021 Year 11 cohort. Completing your personal project during a very unprecedented year filled with challenges and obstacles to overcome, was a phenomenal feat and you should all be very proud of your achievements. I do hope the personal project armed you with skills to complete your DP with success as well. "I find that the harder I work, the more luck I seem to have." Thomas Jefferson |

MYP coordinator Outstanding!! Outstanding is the word that is the strongest testament to your personal project report, product and perseverance over this past year. You all have been diligent and focused throughout this process and the skills that you have learned during this experience will greatly aid you going forward. It is important that you reflect upon this journey and acknowledge your strengths and reflect upon your areas of improvement. I encourage you to take your time to review the products of your cohort and trust that you have all enjoyed this journey. I leave you with this apt quote which I’m sure resonates with you all and should be remembered the next time you face a daunting task. ‘A journey of a thousand miles, begins with a single step’, Confucius |

Head of Secondary school Congratulations to Year 11 students for the brilliant work showcased in the personal projects. Despite the COVID restrictions, the Year 11 students have completed their personal projects and have demonstrated their passion for learning. The personal project has provided an excellent opportunity for students to produce a truly personal and a creative product or outcome. The personal nature of the project is important; the projects have revolved around a challenge that motivates and interests the individual student. |
